Tree cabling and bracing systems are installed to help support the tree's structure. Certain species have weaker wood or have "v crotch" that are prone to splitting during heavy winds.

One type of system we use is a dynamic cabling system that allows for movement and flexibility and to control the branches from splitting. A properly installed cabling system should not be highly visible but should blend in with the tree's trunk and branches.

There are many different types of cabling systems, sizes, and materials. Depending on the species, condition of the tree other systems may be recommended such as steel or rod bracing. Our Certified Arborist can recommend the system that works best for your trees.

Steel cabling and rod bracing requires knowledge and experience to ensure that the tree is not damaged during the installation pocess. Improperly installed cabling system can fail or damage the tree if done by an inexperienced technician.

Tips for Inspection (may require a binocular):

• Check for broken or hanging limbs.
• Does the cable appear slack?
• Does you see fraying on the cable?
• Do you notice signs of animals living near the cabling system? (Squirrels nest?)
• How old is your system?
• Will the sytem require a climbing inspection?
